All Emerald Aussies have current OFA (hip) and CERF (eye) certifications. Their bloodline selection is intended to minimize or eradicate heritable health conditions such as hip dysplasia, eye defects, allergies, and epilepsy.
TEMPERAMENT
As all Emerald Aussies are expected to be companions first and competitors second, our focus is on breeding dogs with even, friendly dispositions, within the normal expectations of the breed standard. Expect a strong to moderate guarding instinct--Aussies make serious barking watchdogs!
INTELLIGENCE
Australian Shepherds as a breed demonstrate superior intelligence and problem solving ability. Emerald Aussies are specifically selected for a keen ability to "read" humans, and the ability to learn quickly.
BIDDABILITY
Intelligence can be a problem without the willingness to cooperate with training. Emerald Aussies are selected for their success in training and willingness to please.
STRUCTURE
Emerald Aussies are guaranteed to meet or exceed the ASCA and AKC breed standards. Dogs used for breeding are champions themselves and are produced from lines that consistently produce dogs of superior structure.
BEAUTY
Aussies are among the most beautiful of breeds. Emerald Australian Shepherds combine the above qualities with deep color and optimum coat length and quality. They also tend to smile!
